How do I record?
Tap the big RED tab at the bottom of the app. (The red tab with a white circle). Then tap the Record button in the tape recorder view.
How do I unblock the microphone?
Exit the app, go to the Settings app and then Privacy section.
How long can I record for?
There are no restrictions, you can record for an unlimited amount of time as long as you have free space available on your device. We have tested the recorder on 10 hour recordings. However we recommend that you stop and save the recordings at regular intervals and then continue recording just to be safe.
How do I download recordings to my computer?
In the Settings page go to Wifi Sync or iTunes File Sharing sections and follow the instructions.
Can I record a phone call?
Apple does not allow apps to record phone calls with the built-in microphone on your device. To record phone calls you need to purchase our Call Recorder subscription (phone icon along the bottom of the app). This will unlock our 3-way call recording service.
What features are included in the Pro upgrade?
The upgrade allows you to transcribe your recordings into text using speech recognition. You can add notes to individual recordings and advertisments will also be removed from the app. The Call Recorder feature is not included in this upgrade.
How do I transcribe a recording once I upgrade?
Once you have purchased the upgrade select a recording. Along the top will be the buttons Audio, Text and Notes. Tap the Text button and then select the red "Transcribe" button. Finally select the language you would like to transcribe with. Once the transcription process has finished you can tap on the text to edit it.
Why is my transcribed text not 100% accurate?
We use Apple's Siri speech recogniton technology to automatically transcribe recordings. This is a lot faster and cheaper than human transcriptions. However the accuracy is not always 100% correct. Apple is constantly improving the accuracy of Siri. Additionally the more you use Siri or the transcribe feature in Voice Recorder the more the speech recognition will be trained to your voice. Also try to be in a quiet area and speak closely to the microphone on your iPhone or iPad to improve the accuracy further.
How do I rename a recording?
In "tableview" mode swipe a tablerow and tap the pencil icon. In "grid" mode hold your finger down on an icon for 2 seconds and then tap Rename when the menu appears. Or when listening to a recording tap on the file name
How do I delete a recording?
In the recordings tab (Home icon) tap the Edit button in the top right corner. Select rows and then tap Delete. Additionally you can swipe a tablerow and tap the trash can icon.
How do I create a folder?
Pull down on the tableview or grid and tap the + button
How do I trim recording?
WARNING please follow instructions carefully. To trim a recording tap the More action button when viewing a recording in the top right corner. Select the "Trim" option. You next need to select the are you would like to KEEP by dragging the left side and right side of the slider. Tap the play button to preview the trimming. Please note you will not be able to undo the trimming once it has been applied to the original file.
How do I upload files to an online cloud?
Tap the More action button when viewing a recording in the top right corner and then tap "Upload to cloud"
